Nadia and Des are such a wonderfully sweet couple, so fun to work with. We love their creative vibe and so when Nadia asked us to shoot her maternity session, and after learning that the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego had commissioned 9 urban artists to install murals throughout San Diego for their recent Viva La Revolucion: A Dialogue with the Urban Landscape show, we knew we had to shoot Nadia and Des in front of Shepard Fairey’s mural on the side of the Urban Outfitters building in Hillcrest. Shepard Fairey, famous for his counter-culture iconography (André the Giant, Obey, and most recently the Obama posters) is one of our favorite urban artists. So it was a triple whammy! Nadia + Des’ ultimate creative expression (their new baby) + their tattoo art + Shepard Fairey mural = Absolute Creation.
Nadia and Des just had their baby girl, Luna. Congrautlations!!! She was born on 10.10.10 : ) How fabulous!
