Fine Art Engagement Session

Q. How did you meet?

A. Mike and I were living on the same street while I was in college…Dorothy Lane. I had a roommate who was dying to meet “the house full of boys down the street” so one day while we were driving down the street I noticed their front door was open and I pulled right into his driveway.
Q. When did you get engaged?

A. About 3 and a half years after we started dating. He took me to a bed and breakfast in Julian as my Christmas present and proposed there. He knew it was one of my favorite childhood cities.

Last week was the best because I had the honor of shooting Matt’s San Diego proposal to Karmen. The week was filled with planning and excitement. The proposal was going to happen at Davanti Enoteca in Little Italy San Diego. Matt and Karmen met at work and Matt knew that she was the one after the first date. The Davanti staff was super helpful and the food looked really good. I normally photograph my clients after the big question has been asked but this time I would be front and center. Matt did such a good job of setting up the private room where he popped the question and he pulled it off with style. Make sure that you check out how smooth he was when he went for the ring drop knee style.

Andrea and Paul’s are a very stylish couple who wanted to include their dog Cali at their engagement session. Before getting married they had been sweethearts for 9 years … they met in High School – so cute!! These engagement images were captured in urban downtown San Diego and in La Jolla, where they got married at the Museum of Contemporary Art and the bright colors of their clothes really make them pop. Their modern style blended well with the urban landscape of downtown San Diego.
